Which stethoscope is better and why?
I will be going to college for Medical Assisting. Which stethoscope should I start out with? A dual head or a sprague? Also, what are the differences besides their appearances?

As a medical assistant, you can get away with whatever inexpensive stethoscope you want. If you spend a lot of money, it’s a bigger target for theft.
The expensive stethoscopes are importnat if you are going to be a cardiologist, listening for S3 sounds or subtle rubs, but you won’t be doing that as an MA. For taking blood pressures and listening for wheezing or rales, any old ‘scope will do.
I’m a doctor, and i use a $15 Rappopot-Sprague type ‘scope. It gets the job done. Plus, they come in lots of colors!
