what are the disadvantages of a Sprague Rappaport Type stethoscope?
I need to buy a stethoscope for uni and in our bookshop they recommend the sprague rappaport type. What the the advantages and disadvantages of this type?
They’ve been my choice for over thirty years. Especially since they can be had for cheap.
Some people object to the dual tubes in that they’ll rub against each other. I’ve never seen that as a problem. You have binaural hearing, a good diaphragm, a good bell, interchangeable sizes of both, and generally everything you’ll ever need. If you get one in the $20 range, you won’t be heartbroken when (and it is when, not if) the thing walks off.
