Best Stethoscope besides Littman, HELP!!?
I have a Littman II SE, which I am ready to toss. I cannot hear most murmurs unless they are totally obvious. I have tried even the Littman III Cardiology scope but it does not even compare to my vet’s Philips Rappaport-Sprague scope. Unfortunately, they are now discontinued and I cannot find one for sale anywhere. I even like the $30 Prestige Sprague better than my Littman….
I have listened to an ultrascope which is better than mine, but I am not keen on carrying that bulky scope everywhere….
I would like to find a stethoscope that comes close to the Philips (formerly HP) scope that is not digital….
Can someone please Help?
As a RT I use a stethoscope all the time. I think the best one is the one you can hear out of. Weather it cost $100 or $12 as long as you can hear what you need to hear. When you go to shop for one try it on and listen, can you hear the noises around you? Then use it on people in the store (clerks other customers, just ask most dont mind you listening to them.) then decide. Thats how I decide which I am going to buy.
