
Is their a relationship between heart rate & blood pressure?
i.e. the lower the resting heart rate (60bpm) the lower the person’s blood pressure or if the person’s BPM is below 60 then they have low blood pressure & if above 80 they have high blood pressure.
Yes- there is a relationship between heart rate and blood pressure- in that -at low or very low blood pressures-such as below 80 mm Hg- the heart rate may be- at times – very rapid- above 100-120 bpm – on one hand- and at times- heart rate may be very slow- but these are pathologic states- i.e. severe states of diseases- of various causes… Anyway – in normal instances – too- there is a relationship between heart rate and blood pressure- in that slowing- by prescription drugs- the heart rate- may induce a drop in blood pressure -too- as the heart is one of the main determinants of blood pressure…
