Will Community Medicare Medicaid cover nursing home charges completely? Orange county FL?
My grandma is to much for us to manage now. She has Medicaid Community CCr Medicare part D. I’ve read online that medicaid and care in some instances only cover part, and when they die they come after you for the estate. Now my grandma has no estate, no house, but she’s been living with us for years. Can they come after my home cause we don’t have money either. Also I did sign a power of attorny for her while she was near death. Was that a mistake?
If she has Medicare (parts A&B) and medicaid, there should be no out of pocket expenses due from her. You should be able to verify this with the facility she is in now. Power of attorney does not make you personally liable for her expenses. It only gives you legal authority to handle her affairs. The state cannot come after you.
