when I go to the doctor my blood pressure always reads high…?
Whenever I go to the doctor I get a reading of about 140 – 150 overe 70 or 80…When I use my home monitor…(its not a wrist cuff its an arm cuff-digital) It is always normal! My doc says I have to come in every couple of weeks to check it and if it remains high at the office he will say I have HBP! I tried to explain to him that whenever I am there I get EXTREMELY anxious and nervous and I think that has something to do with my pressure going up. I walk and bike constantly, and although I do need to lose a few pounds, my blood pressure is excellent at home…usually in the 115-125 over 60-70 range….I don’t want to be put on meds if its not necessary! He doesn’t believe the “white coat hypertension” theory I guess…anyone with this experience?
My doctor knows how to make mine high and they use every trick. If you take it at home, you know a sneeze will make it go up, so will talking. Go by your home BP test if your machins is accurate. Stay off meds. They will cause you all sorts of illnesses. I have had 5 bypasses and thet nearly killed me wit BP meds. I now taks none and run 136/62. He wants 120/under90 but that is just to sell meds. Mine is fine.
