Dr’s, RN’s, Medics, EMT’s… Prestige Manual Blood Pressure cuffs- good quality? What brand is better?
Looking for another Blood Pressure Kit (cuff and stethoscope). Not interested in spending a lot of money for a Littman. Anyone used Prestige brand? Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I haven’t had good luck with the cheap color-coordinated kits that you can find for about $20 in most EMS or medical catalogs. The stethoscope tends to fall apart under heavy use, and so far, those are the only blood pressure cuffs that have broken on me. Mind you, I use mine about 20 times a day, every third day, so it gets used quite a bit.
When it comes to medical gear, I’ve noticed that the price generally is a direct reflection of how well it works. My $40 Littman stethoscope is nice, but it doesn’t compare to my $200 Littman stethoscope. The $10 ‘scope that I got for free during EMT training is practically worthless.
On the ambulance, we’ve got a lot of ADC BP cuffs and they seem to stand up to a lot of use.
