Black women, does seeing other Black women with White men?
bother you. I think there is sort of a stigma attached to that sort of relationship, particularly among Black Americans, because of early American history. I think , in general, both whites and Blacks get upset when they see a female of their race with a spouse who isn’t. But with Blacks it is magnified when ever the significant other is a White; espescially if the onlooker is a Black male. I’m about to use a fairly…………..adult example, but in the case of interracial adult movies, i can never see a black woman with a white guy without thinking in the back of my mind, “If this was 50 years ago, he wouldn’t even have bothered asking her to comply, and there would have been nothing she could do about it, because not even the law would protect her”
Admit it, it seems like it bothers you more than it bothers most black women.
Frankly, I’m happy that black women have decided that the most important thing in their lives is for them to make themselves happy, not to make YOU happy. Whether they marry a black man or “marry out”, isn’t the most important thing is that he’s a good man? Isn’t that what MLK meant with the “judged not by the color of their skin but the content of their character”?
